Dereme is a chocolatier and artist who resides in Marin County, California. She studied painting and drawing at the Heatherly School of Fine Art and regularly hosted dinner parties and other events for British royalty. In the United States, she enrolled at the San Diego Culinary Institute where she studied under the tutelage of certified master pastry chef Bo Friberg. Dereme has also received advanced instruction by internationally acclaimed chefs Nicolas Lodge, Collette Peters, Sebastien Cannone, Jacquy Pfeiffer and Daniel Chaboissier. She worked with Charlie Trotter in Chicago and competed on the Food Network Cake Challenge. Dereme draws creative inspiration from her artistic background and her world travels, which she applies to her edible art. Upon her discovery of raw foods she founded a successful raw chocolate and catering business and has recently partnered with Sacred Foods as executive chef. She is currently developing the world’s first line of artisan bean-to-truffle collections, Sacred Truth, maintaining the highest level of raw organic integrity.
